Using myFinnexa

myFinnexa is made up of two tools: a personal budget tracker and a business calculator. This guide explains what each one does and how to build an accurate picture of your finances in a few minutes.

The budget tracker

Add each source of income and every expense, then set how often it occurs — weekly, fortnightly, monthly, quarterly or yearly. myFinnexa converts each entry to a common basis, so a weekly grocery bill and an annual insurance premium sit in the same total and add up correctly. Switching the view between weekly, monthly and yearly simply re-scales the same figures.

For the most accurate result, enter your recurring commitments first — rent or mortgage, utilities, insurance, transport and subscriptions — and record annual bills at their true yearly frequency, so myFinnexa spreads them evenly across each month rather than leaving you exposed when they fall due.

The business calculator

The business calculator is a straightforward ledger for a side hustle or small business. Log each sale and expense against a date — using the quantity and unit-price fields where you buy or sell in batches — and myFinnexa maintains a running view of what is coming in, what is going out, and what remains.

One device, one set of data

Whichever tool you use, everything you enter stays in your own browser. Because there is no sign-in and nothing is uploaded to a server, there is also nothing to synchronise between your devices: entries added on your phone stay on your phone, and entries added on your PC stay on your PC. The same applies to different browsers on one machine, so figures entered in Chrome will not appear in Firefox or Safari.

The practical advice is to choose a single device and browser for your budgeting and keep to it, so you are always looking at the complete picture. Bear in mind too that clearing your browser cache or site data will remove your entries permanently, and that private or incognito windows discard everything once closed.

myFinnexa is a planning aid rather than formal bookkeeping, but for staying on top of your day-to-day finances, few tools are faster or more private.
